Privacy
Your privacy is important to Dr. Kathleen Yen. Dr. Yen does not accept insurance directly. This means that your treatment with Dr. Yen is not part of your permanent medical record with your insurance company, unless you choose to notify them. In addition, Dr. Yen can spend more time with you as she is not restricted to a set allowable length of session or a set allowable number of visits that may be indicated by your insurance provider.
If you would like to submit your charges to your insurance provider for reimbursement, a detailed billing statement can be generated at your request. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance to establish what you will be reimbursed. Dr. Yen is considered an “out-of-network” provider.
Service Rates
Payment in full is expected at the time of service. The office accepts cash (correct change only), checks, or credit cards.
Fee schedule
- Initial psychiatric consultation, 75 min $475
- Feedback session, 45 min $285
- Medication re-evaluation with supportive therapy, 25 min $210
- Medication re-evaluation with psychotherapy, 45 min $285
- Non-emergent after business hours phone calls, $30 per 5 minutes
Other services and fee schedule by Dr. Yen can be discussed on an individual basis. Fees may be subject to change.
Appointments
Dr. Yen’s schedule is similar to a therapist’s schedule in that she will start and end a session at the time scheduled. Your appointment time is a reservation just for you. She does not “double- book” appointments. Therefore, if an appointment is not cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 business hours’ advance notice, the full fee will be charged.
Dr. Yen is not in the office everyday. If you call the office, you generally will have to leave a voicemail. She does not take phone calls when she is with patients. Most routine calls are returned within 1-2 business days. She will attempt to return urgent calls as soon as possible.
